Get Involved!

It is important to get involved in extra-curricular/community service events during your high school years. Colleges/Universities look at what you do, besides get good grades; this can lead to certain scholarships as well. Make sure that you track all your information so it will be easy to transfer the information to scholarships, letters of recommendations, etc.

College-Bound Athlete

So you want to be a college athlete. That’s great! Now you have to learn the process to actually be a college athlete... and it’s not too early to start figuring out what you need to do. The NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA have processes that you need follow to ensure your eligibility.

If you are a high school athlete who wants to play college-level sports, keep two priorities in mind: COLLEGE FIRST, SPORTS SECOND.

Avoid situations that might leave you without a degree or even a team to play on. Your eligibility is your responsibility!

Letter of Recommendation Request Form

For most scholarships/admission applications, you may need a letter of recommendation from a principal, teacher, school counselor, employer or someone who knows you well. Fill out this request form so they will know useful information about you in order to write an exceptional letter of recommendation. PLEASE ASK THEM TO WRITE THE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE DUE DATE. I also suggest you give your recommender an unofficial transcript and a resume.
